This report aims at describing a framework for motivational variation and
for dealing with different motivations in traditional sales and complex sales. Simply put, traditional sales and complex sales select for people with different motivations. The existing research, ours and others’, shows that people that are suitable sales persons in traditional sales are not motivated by the same things that motivate people that are suitable sales persons in complex sales.
